We end the week with Mike once again making a point of not going to Annie's place so he can avoid playing with the demonic horror freak Nichols children and thus not be a good boy and sacrifice himself for the common good. His resolve lasts until a pop-up shower cools his ardor.

(Strip Number 638, Original Publication Date, 23 June 1984)

Panel 1: As the weather starts to turn, we find Mike standing outside Anne's place thought-bubbling about how Elly expects him to play with dumb Christopher and his baby brother.

Panel 2: As the wind picks up, he tells himself that nothing on Earth is going to get him to go inside that house.

Panel 3: He'll stand outside and wait for Elly to come home but he isn't going to inside.

Panel 4: Seconds later, we find him soaked to the bone by a pop-up shower thought-bubbling "Unless.....it rains!"

Summary: This is what ends up getting him packed off to the West Coast for a month-long time out. You see, his comment about how just because she gotta work doesn't mean he's gotta hang around babies and be treated like a baby and get teased by the guys for bein'a baby is misinterpreted to mean "You can't work because I'm SELFISH!!!! I don't want you to have a real life because I'm an EVIL CHILD who EATS fulfillment." Also, if there is a Lynnsight, it will be about how Aaron never managed to ever sacrifice for the common good either.
