We begin a micro-arc in which John and Elly are martyred because Farley resists their baffling tendency to immerse him in soapy water and wash the odour of dirt he likes off of him. We also get a Lynnsight about how the real Farley (the dog, not the river or the writer) knew to run from the sound of the word 'bath.'

(Strip Number 634, Original Publication Date, 18 June 1984)

Panel 1: We find John in the master bedroom telling Farley to come to where he is and to get out from under the bed.

Panel 2: When telling Farley "good doggie" and "nice doggie" doesn't work, John reverts to type and growls "Come here, you God-damned hound!!"

Panel 3: Upon witnessing the spectacle, Elly asks Mike what's the matter. He says that it's John's fault.

Panel 4: After all, Daddy did use the word "bath."

Summary: Given how Farley's experiences with soapy water lead to discomfort and yelling, you'd have to be an idiot to not know why he's running from the word "bath." Guess what this makes John and Elly and Lynn?
