(Strip Number 597, Original Publication Date, 20 April 1984)
Panel 1: After all the fun ends, Michael looks out of the living room window and laments that all of his friends have left and that his party all over.
Panel 2: He asks Elly why birthday parties are so short.
Panel 3: As we zoom out to see an exhausted Elly in an exaggerated scene of CHAOS, she tells him it's so the mothers who throw them can live longer.
Summary: The odd thing is that every time Elly does throw a party, she ends up looking as if she's about to die of exhaustion. Since we never see police or fire officials showing up to break things up, I should think that we're dealing with a woman who'd dissolve into a puddle if her clothes weren't holding her together.
