We end the week with Filthy Sadist Elly having successfully trapped Mike in an impossible situation; since he doesn't know any better, he confuses this with caring about him.

(Strip Number 558, Original Publication Date, 25 February 2013)

Panel 1: We find ourselves at the Pattermanse watching Elly ask Michael where he's been; he says nowhere in particular.

Panel 2: Elly then tells him that she knows that he went to the Forbidden Arcade Of Being The Only Place He Can Go and that they both know that he's not allowed there.

Panel 3: She then tells him to sit in his room so he can endure an ignorant, self-satisfied lecture from a filthy sadist later.

Panel 4: Michael whines that Gordon is lucky because his parents don't care.

Summary: As I said once before, there's a reason besides the "Elly puts Mike between a rock and a hard place so she can be right" factor and the whole "Let's make Jack Thompson look rational and well-informed" thing that I do not like this arc. The reason is that we're expected to praise Elly for her loving kindness and firm fairness based on having to bear witness to deliberately trying to get her son in trouble.
