We end the week with Elly telling Michael that the reason they call it a crush is because that's what happens to your feelings when the person you like finds out about it. Way to go, El. You've just set in motion a chain of events that will lead to Mike breaking up with Rhetta via e-mail.

(Strip Number 552, Original Publication Date, 17 February 1984)

Panel 1: We find Mike asking Elly if she ever 'liked' someone when she was in school.

Panel 2: She touches her hand to her chin and says that yes, she had a crush on a boy for three years.

Panel 3: Michael asks howcome they call it a crush.

Panel 4: Elly thinks it's because that's what happens to your feelings when they find out.

Summary: This, I think, is going to leave Lynn in a bind as it is a better fit to her Lynnecdote about her grade school crush. Not that she'll let that stop her. The only thing that stops her is having to remember that she thought she and Rod would still be together right about now.
