(Strip Number 4411, Original Publication Date, 2 January 1984)
Panel 1: As our story continues, it's dinner time on Elly's first day as a member of the labor force. As she's about to set one of her infamous casseroles on the table, she tells John how fantastic it is that she goes in three mornings a week and can get a lot of work done from home.
Panel 2: She's even more thrilled because Sue and the other librarians told her that if she had to, she could bring Lizzie with her.
Panel 3: Unfrozen Caveman Dentist John sputters "Take a kid to WORK? Are they NUTS???" Elly tells him "No."
Panel 4: They're all mothers.
Summary: This sure is 2013, isn't it? I mean, imagine the astonishing novelty of something that someone who'd have grown up taking working mothers as a given would shrug off. Also, imagine Rod's reaction when he's yet again called out for being something he isn't.
