In today's strip, Jean tells John to quit whining about having to make his own lunch now that Elly's got a job.

(Strip Number 4410, Original Publication Date, 1 February 1984)

Panel 1: We find ourselves at the clinic; as John works on a set of dentures, he tells Jean that now that Elly's got a day job, things at the Pattermanse are sure going to change.

Panel 2: He then irritates her (and me) by whining like a big, freaking sooky-baby about how she left for work at eight thirty thereby forcing him to make his own lunch for a change.

Panel 3: Jean asks the great wet jessie to look at her face and see if there's any sort of deep sympathy written on it. John says that there isn't any.

Panel 4: She smiles and says "Exactly."

Summary: I'd be thrilled to death if John were the only person being a whiny little shit because Elly isn't running around picking up after him; too bad that Mike and Lizzie are equally reluctant to let her have time for herself. I'd be even happier if I weren't expecting a Lynnsight about how Rod's harem had their uses.
