In today's strip, Ted tells John not to worry about Elly's exercise kick. His comment about keeping the mind sharp is supposed to be subverted by his fondness for the video games Lynn cannot master and therefore regards as worthless.

(Strip Number 4400, Original Publication Date, 12 January 1984)

Panel 1: It would seem that it's lunch time; that's because John has been talking about things with Ted again. Ted says "So, Elly's got you all uptight about fitness, has she?"

Panel 2: Ted goes on to tell John that he's okay. John, he goes on to say, might be a little sloppy about the middle but so is he.

Panel 3: He'd rather exercise his MIND, what's up top....if John knows what he means.

Panel 4: As he continues his game of Space Invaders, Ted asks John to spot him another quarter.

Summary: This, as one could guess, is supposed to make a lie of Ted having a brain. We can look forward to a chirpy, ignorant comment about noise, stupidity, waste and not at all jealousy of something someone isn't instantly good at.
