In today's strip, we find the Pattersons honoring another Foobiversal Christmas tradition: keeping Christmas cards from people they don't remember just in case they happen to be relatives.
(Strip Number 529, Original Publication Date, 29 December 1983)
Panel 1: We start things off with Elly holding up some envelopes as she says "Look at this! We're STILL getting Christmas cards!!"
Panel 2: As she reads the first of the late arrivals, her happiness at being wished a happy holiday is replaced by confusion; given that she's asking John who Stan, Gretchen, Barb and Kenny are, this is probably because she has no idea who sent them the card.
Panel 3: John hasn't the blindest idea either and asks if they left a last name or return address. Elly says they left no clues at all.
Panel 4: A baffled John tells her to hang on to it because they might just be relatives.
Summary: The interesting thing about this strip is that this is not the only time this happens. The other interesting thing is that we're probably going to see a Lynnsight that has her crow about giving friends a shout-out.
