Panel 1: We start off with an exterior shot of the hoverwagon as John and Mike drive home; John tells Mike that if he keeps playing with that glass angel, it's going to break.
Panel 2: Mike says that he isn't playing with it, he's just looking at it.
Panel 3: He then tempts fate by saying that you can't break something just by looking at it.
Panel 4: The reason that I mentioned "tempting fate" is that for some reason, the wings SNAP off the silly thing. Mike's reaction is, of course, one of shock.
Summary: Since John didn't see what happened, he runs his fool mouth about the thing breaking and makes Mike feel like garbage. I can think of a lot of scenarios in which simply holding it could lead to this and they all involve his shocks needing replacement. That being said, Mike should have left it in its box so that Lead-Foot Johnny couldn't end up blaming him for being a stupid driver.
