Today's strip shows us another reason why it is that John can never seem to buy Elly what she wants. It would seem that by the time he gets to the mall, he forgets what Elly told him she wanted.

(Strip Number 517, Original Publication Date, 13 December 1983)

Panel 1: We find Mike and John at the mall; John tells Mike that Elly sure is hard to shop for.

Panel 2: Mike asks how come that is; after all, he did say that she did tell him what she wanted.

Panel 3: John says that's the problem.

Panel 4: It turns out that he can't exactly remember what she told him to get her.

Summary: It's probably just me but I can't help but expect a Lynnsight about how evil, conflict-causing MEN always tune out their poor put-upon wives. The problem with her using this one to prove her points is that while John is a dumbass who never listens, he's more of a cautionary example than an exemplar of masculinity.
