We begin the Christmas angel arc with Mike keeping the fact that he and John are buying Elly's present as well hidden as one could expect from a nine year old boy.

(Strip Number 517, Original Publication Date, 12 December 1983)

Panel 1: We start things off with Michael getting his jacket out of a closet as Elly looks on while washing a dinner plate. Mike tells her that he an'Daddy are goin'downtown for awhile.

Panel 2: He then says that they aren't looking for Christmas presents or anything an'if they come home with parcels, they aren't for her.

Panel 3: Mike tells John that he told Elly they were goin'out.

Panel 4: He also tells him not to worry as Mom doesn't suspect a thing.

Summary: How strange it is that Saturday's Lynnsight would probably fit this one better than whatever it is that Lynn does come up with. In any event, it's not really all that funny to mock a small child because he or she is naive, is it?
