(Strip Number 6123, Original Publication Date, 11 December 1983)
Panel 1: We start things off with an anxious-looking Lawrence holding a toy shotgun hiding behind a house. Mike, who's just found him, yells "Ah-hah!!"
Panel 2: Mike then playacts firing his own toy gun.
Panel 3: The strip the newspaper-buying public sees begins with Mike telling Gordon and a third boy "Okay, men...stay undercover while I scout the enemy."
Panel 4: As they take cover behind a tree, Mike tells his platoon "There they are!!"
Panel 5: The three of them yell "Ready? CHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGE!!!" as they chase Lawrence and a fifth boy.
Panel 6: The five children spend a pleasant couple of minutes playing war.
Panel 7: We shift focus from the boys having fun playing soldier to Elly and Lizzie who are watching the pretend carnage out of the picture window as one of the five says "AHHH!!! You got me."
Panel 8: Elly tells Lizzie that what they saw is why she believes that they'll never have a nuclear war.
Panel 9: She tells Lizzie that it wouldn't be any fun.
Summary: God, what a deep thinker Lynn is not. You'd have to pretty freaking stupid to equate dumb kids playing soldier to the horror, misery and waste of conventional war. Lynn, sadly, is exactly that stupid. (If you think I'm exaggerating, wait for the Lynnsight. It's bound to be a masterwork of no-think.)
