Anne and Elly continue to prove babsbybend's point about Christmas being an occasion for passive-aggressive nagging about a sore spot when Elly suggests that she get the sedentary man an exercise bike. When Annie points out that he can barely stir himself from the couch, Elly suggests using it to power the television.

(Strip Number 541, Original Publication Date, 8 December 1983)

Panel 1: Anne tells Elly that Steve has everything; by this, she means that she can't think of a thing he needs that he doesn't already have.

Panel 2: Elly reminds her that they don't have an exercise bike and tells her that she should buy one.

Panel 3: A baffled Annie asks Elly if she's kidding or something. After all, she says, she can't get him off the sofa; how's she going to get him to use an exercise bike?

Panel 4: Elly suggests hooking it up to the TV.

Summary: I suggest minding her own business; it's one thing for Anne to put her own passive-aggressive nagging under the tree and quite another for her to get some from a saboteur friend.
