Mike tries to make good his escape from school to avoid the beat-down Brad promised him only to get outsmarted by his opponent.

(Strip Number 500, Original Publication Date, 16 November 1983)

Panel 1: It's the end of the school day and we find a panic-stricken Mike reminding himself that Brad is somewhere in the corridors and if Brad catches him, he'll beat him up.

Panel 2: Mike thought-bubbles that he made it to his locker okay but now has to get out of the building.

Panel 3: As Michael approaches a certain door, he reminds himself that he's never known Brad to leave that particular way....all he has to do is sneak out....

Panel 4: And get grabbed onto by a fifteen year old boyBrad who's yelling GOTCHA!! at Mike's surprised-ass self.

Summary: It would seem that Brad was thinking "If I were a weaselly little fink like Michael Patterson, I'd try to duck out of the beating I have coming so I'll just head him off at the pass. That means that I'll have to lie in wait by the door near the teacher's lounge but it'll be worth the risk of getting another detention to paste the lying little snot." It would also seem that Lynn has seen too many television shows because I remember this sort of thing happening all the time on television. In real life, not so much.
