We end the week with Elly calling John on being a nutbar. Since he's that oh-so-common thing called "a jackass who can dish it out but who cannot take it", he is not ecstatic.

(Strip Number 4384, Original Publication Date, 29 October 1983)

Panel 1: We continue on from where we left off yesterday as Doris apologizes to Elly. What she's apologizing for is smacking John on the head and leaving him in pain.

Panel 2: You see, she had no real idea that it was John out there acting like a Scooby Doo villain and making faces at them through the window so as to mess with them.

Panel 3: She continues to liken him to some jackass in a rubber mask by saying that she thought it was just some random crazy nutcase.

Panel 4: Elly smirks and tells her "It was". Since John doesn't like to be laughed at at ALL, he isn't exactly a happy camper.

Summary: This is why I assume that Monday's strip will be a new-ruin that has John bitch about how she could embarrass him like that only to be asked how he can't take his own advice about lightening the frakk up. For the books to balance, John must be told what's good for the goose is good for the gander.
