In today's strip, Mike manages to talk Elly into giving him, Gordon and Lawrence some of the cupcakes; Gordon somehow likens managing to out-think a nitwit to being a successful politician.

(Strip Number 485, Original Publication Date, 19 October 1983)

Panel 1: We find the boys looking into the kitchen and drooling at the freshly-baked cupcakes that will probably end up in Mike's lunch anyway.

Panel 2: Elly reminds Mike that these are for company....by which she means the women about to marvel at the pearl-pink combination plunger and biff brush.

Panel 3: As Lawrence and Gordon grin at her, Mike reminds her that they too are company.

Panel 4: Having watched Mike do the very easy thing called 'outsmarting Elly', Lawrence asks him if he's ever considered a career in politics.

Summary: I don't know about you but I think Lynn owes most elected officials an apology if she's going to lump them in with a cement-head like Michael.
