When the Pattersons retrieve Farley from the kennel, he's delighted to see them again. That's kind of odd given how shabbily they treat him.

(Strip Number 6020, Original Publication Date, 13 August 1983)

Panel 1: Having returned home, we find the Pattersons at the kennel. Mike gets out of the car and tells them that he can see the kennel Farley is in and wonders if he missed them.

Panel 2: Given the happy look on his face and the cheery-sounding WOWF he's making, I'd say that that would be a good bet.

Panel 3: I'd also say his happily bowling them all over and slobbering on them is a good sign.

Panel 4: So would John. Since Farley once again knocks his glasses askew because he's happy to see him, John says that yes, he thinks Farley missed them.

Summary: This would have become a running gag if Lynn had thought to milk it. It could well have been her own personal kite-eating tree or pulled football.
