It's August! Summer is in full swing here, and we're enjoying the outdoors as much as possible.
Our annual Summer in the Park event is happening on the waterfront in North Bay on the first weekend in August. It features a midway, workshops and programs for artists, First Nations cultural events, and live acts. This year Meat Loaf will be headlining! If you're in our area, be sure to take it all in.
Lynn has returned from San Diego Comic-Con. She had a great time and you can read a News Bite where she talks about her experience here. It features some photos by her son, Aaron, who also attended. Our studio photo of the month, below, is a newsletter exclusive - Aaron runs afoul of Darth Vader.
Our 2013 calendars are here! Order yours now - quantities, as always, are limited. We have started to work on the 2014 calendar. Already! Farley golf club covers are now available - and the best part is a percentage of your purchase will go to the Farley Foundation. Get yours here.
From Lynn: "We are still working on the manuscript for the third treasury. The editing has come back from the publisher, but there are still so many small corrections and rewrites to do. Before I started working on books like this, I had no idea how much work they were!" Making Ends Meet is due to be published this fall! We'll keep you informed about the release date.
Lynn on her wedding dress: "My first wedding dress is going to be on display next Month in Cornwall, Ontario along with Phyllis Diller's dress (she just turned 95!) In a show called "Weddings in History". Having my dress shown next to Phyllis' was the reason I said "YES!!!" This dress was made by my mom. It's unbleached cotton and embroidered with flowers. A real "hippy" dream! I don't wear it now because it's (ahem) out of style."
Lynn donates some cels: "I've just donated the last of my original animation cells and backgrounds to the Hands: The Family Help Network. They plan to decorate their new offices with them. I'm always glad to see neat stuff go to great people." A week ago Lynn was one of 6 recipients of a star on the North Bay walk of fame. Lynn says "It's an honour to be recognized (and walked on) by folks in your own home town!" You can read the news story here. Want more chances to win FBorFW prizes? Like our Facebook page.
