In today's strip, we remind ourselves that Lynn thinks that while farmers are magic, they're also amazingly sexist. She 'proves' her 'point' by having Danny make a standard 'HURR-HURR-HURR!! Women always hit things when they drive because they don't have Y chromosomes!!" joke. Tomorrow, we have Arnold foreshadow Howard Bunt when he calls operating a combine man's work.

(Strip Number 4354, Original Publication Date, 3 August 1983)

Panel 1: Danny looks around and tells John and Elly that he guesses they should get the winter wheat in before it rains.

Panel 2: He then asks Elly if she wants to take a crack at driving the combine.

Panel 3: John asks Danny if he really thinks she can manage on that thing.

Panel 4: Danny makes an assy comment about there being nothing to hit.

Summary: Like I said, Lynn thinks that farm people are decades behind their civilized and civilizable brethren in terms of enlightenment. They might be magic but they act like it's a hundred years ago. My guess is that she came to this conclusion when either Don Cruikshank or his brother-in-law Freddy suggested that she keep an eye on Aaron instead of play-acting at being a farmer.
