(Strip Number 6019, Original Publication Date, 29 July 1983)
Panel 1: Now that the sow is done birthing, Danny tells Elly that it isn't a bad showing as they've nine good ones and a runt.
Panel 2: Since Elly doesn't know how big the word "if" can be, Danny's off-hand comment about how the runt will survive if he gets fed at all only seems to have served to have set her up to be disappointed.
Panel 3: As they walk back to the main building, she tells him that farming must really bring him in touch with the miracles of life, birth and death.
Panel 4: He tells her to cut the poetry because they're having bacon for breakfast.
Summary: I'm not sure which I like the least: Elly blithering about miracles or Danny going out of his way to be 'practical'. Hell. I'll just call it a draw and wish both of them would shut up.
