We end the week with Lizzie delivering the real moral to the story: "don't work like an idiot, wait for the miracle."
(Strip Number 429, Original Publication Date, 25 June 1983)
Panel 1: Now that Mike is tooling down the road on his new skates, John tells Lizzie how much her brother loves them
Panel 2: He then gushes about how hard Mike worked for the money needed to buy them,
Panel 3: John sets up the punchline by telling Lizzie that yessir, when you want something, there's only one sensible way to go about getting it.
Panel 4: Lizzie leans on the fourth wall as she smiles and thought-bubbles "Ask Grandma."
Summary: The reason that this is a good idea is that Mommy is a thieving skinflint and Daddy's head is full of birdseed.
