We get a heads-up about the first Exile Farm arc when Mike tells Gordon about the not-so-funny comparison John made between his children and pigs.

(Strip Number 425, Original Publication Date, 2 June 1983)

Panel 1: We find ourselves watching Gordon watching Mike and Lizzie as they play in the dirt. He asks them if they're goin'any place this summer.

Panel 2: Mike tells him that his Aunt Bev and Uncle Danny want them to come to their farm.

Panel 3: Gordo asks him what kind of farm they have. Mike tells him that it's a pig farm.

Panel 4: Mike then tells him that John says that he and Lizzie have to get to know their relatives. Gordon frowns because he doesn't know who Doctor P meant.

Summary: Gordon has good cause to wonder if John is comparing his children to pigs because they play in dirt. So do I. So do you. What we won't see in any of this is a note that talks about the petty nastiness behind John's goofy grin; what we will get is a lot of twaddle from Kool-Aid Nation saying that he meant no such thing because they don't want to admit how little Lynn likes children.
