Mike's refusal to show Deanna his report card because her marks are better is accompanied by a Little Lynnie show in which she whines about all of the awful children who had evil, evil work ethics and actually applied themselves to things that bored them.

(Strip Number 418, Original Publication Date, 7 June 1983)

Panel 1: We find ourselves watching Deanna coming up to Mike and asking if he passed; he says "Uh-huh."

Panel 2: When she offers to show him her report card if he shows her his, he refuses.

Panel 3: She asks him why he won't show her his report card when she saw him show it to Lawrence.

Panel 4: He tells her "Your marks are better than mine."

Summary: Mike is being used as a mouthpiece for Lynn today. The Lynn he's speaking for is the one who resents the finks and stuck-up jerks who did something awful: make her look bad by doing well in things they didn't really like. Couldn't they be fair to her and also be lazy, lazy, lazy idiots who only do well in subjects that interested them and let what bored them slide so she wouldn't get lectured about the need to have a work ethic by parents who couldn't veg out when they weren't in the mood and continue to frakking eat?
