We lurch into a reminder that John has pretty much forgotten what it's like to be a child when he makes the bog-standard "Every day is Kid's Day" speech unreflective adults like him make.

(Strip Number 4327, Original Publication Date, 7 May 1983)

Panel 1: We start things off with Mike trying to get confirmation that tomorrow is Mother's Day from the organic adjunct of the recliner he calls Dad.

Panel 2: He then asks howcome if they have Mother's and Father's Day but they don't have Kid's Day.

Panel 3: Since John seems sort of unaware of how much it sucks to be a child, he stares a blank-eyed stare and says that every day is Kid's Day.

Panel 4: Mike tells Lizzie that he knew he was going to say that.

Summary: John's confusion on this issue seems to be Lynn's confusion. Her notes betray the fact that she has no real idea how difficult it must have been to be one of her children.
