(Strip Number 388, Original Publication Date, 15 April 1983)
Panel 1: We finally come to someone 'nice'; that's because a woman who is drawn to look like a human being instead of a meltdown survivor tells a happy Mike that she will support his school. She then sets up the conflict by asking if she has change for a ten.
Panel 2: Since Mike is a dumb kid who wears whatever's on his bed, he notices that there's a hole in his pocket.
Panel 3: He then tearfully yowls that they have to go back the way they came to look for all his money.
Panel 4: Mike tells an enraged John that he thought that they weren't supposed to say those words.
Summary: Well, if she was going to buy from him before, she isn't going to do so now. She might feel sorry for the kid but Mrs Essence is probably mildly repulsed by John cursing like a stevedore because he thinks that Mike is to blame for his own lack of foresight.
