In today's strip, we remind ourselves that Lynn has distinct trouble with the doctrine of original sin. She also has distinct trouble with the concept of handling delicate issues without making herself look like a nitwit.

(Strip Number 4319, Original Publication Date, 1 April 1983)

Panel 1: We find Elly doing something rare when encountering Mike kneeling on the couch looking out the window: asking him what he's doing instead of bellowing in rage because he's facing the wrong way. This is a clear sign that we're about to get a hea-vee message. Anyways, she notices that he's looking thoughtful and asks why.

Panel 2: He thinks that it's sad that Jesus died, that's all.

Panel 3: Elly tries to cheer him up by saying that he had to to save us all from our sins.

Panel 4: Mike bugs his eyes out and says "But Mom! I haven't done anything."

Summary: The Lynnsight is all about how Lynn has problems with organized religion because she can't wrap her head around the whole 'born in sin' thing. I just wish she could wrap her head around the fact that she's just alienated some members of KAN who thought that she was a junior-grade Elmer Gantry in skirts prior to this and are outraged that Pagan Mike doesn't immediately agree with Elly.
