(Strip Number 4316, Original Publication Date, 22 March 1983)
Panel 1: We find Elly in the changing room at Philpotts thought-bubbling about the unfairness of how there's not one swimsuit on the market that she could wear.
Panel 2: As she looks at the suits for sale, she thought-bubbles about how they're either frontless, sideless, backless or hipless.
Panel 3: She then tells Annie that there's a conspiracy afoot.
Panel 4: Someone, you see, is trying to keep every woman over thirty off the beach.
Summary: Since this is a rather common anxiety, it's not a surprise that she got so many letters that agree with her. Granted, she has an extreme case of shyness that might actually be full-blown dysmorphia and might not realize (or care or believe) that women under thirty have similar suspicions but she is hitting a target that no one can miss.
