The Newsletter for March 2012

For those of you who are curious about this sort of thing, here's this month's newsletter.

Enjoy a green beverage of your choice and raise a glass as we celebrate the beginning of the end of winter. We're expecting just one more month of snow and cold.

We still have 2012 wall calendars in stock! They're now reduced to fifty cents each. Get yours while they last. Make sure to watch the slideshow on the front page of the store for coupon codes or any discounts we're currently offering! We change our specials on a monthly basis too!

Our Saint Patrick's Day greets are online! Send some love to your loved ones here.

Want to see all the historical FBorFW strips for March 1st? Check them out here. What happened in the strip on YOUR birthday? Just visit our date search page and put your birth date into the search tool on the "Search by Date" box on the right. For example if your birthday is May 28th, enter 05-28 into the search box and see what happened in the strip on your day over 30+ years!

Thanks to everyone who entered our annual Love Struck Contest. It closed on February 17th and we chose four winners who received four signed FBorFW prints each.

Have you joined us on Facebook yet? We have a trivia contest once a week - "like" our page for a chance to win.

North Bay residents will be seeing Lynn, larger than life, on a Rotary Club billboard around the city, in support of the club's campaign to eradicate polio. You can see the billboard here or learn more about the initiative on the Rotary website.

"Farley and the Last Bone" will soon be available as an audio ebook with a few animations; Lynn recorded the vocals last month. We'll keep you posted as we get more information about the release date and which devices you can use to read it.

Kevin is putting the final touches on the 3rd Treasury cover. Lynn asked him to make it quite different from the others, so we're looking forward to giving you a sneak preview when it's ready.

In February, Mike Peters (who draws Mother Goose and Grimm) had Grimmy pay a visit to For Better or For Worse. We posted the two strips on our site here. Click the thumbnails to read the whole strips. On this page, we collect any comics that reference or make fun of FBorFW - if you know of any others we should add to this page, we'd love to hear from you!

Lynn will be a special guest this year at the San Diego International Comic Con. The con runs from July 12-15 and will be hosting plenty of talented artists.

A winter note from Lynn: I went out onto the lake the other day with a friend- wearing snowshoes that were a bit too big and using poles for the first time. The poles were good in the woods as we were following trails and there were a few obstacles along the way. We could see easily the places where deer had slept and had marked their territory- like dogs do. We also saw rabbit and fox tracks and where they intersected! The lake was an easy, brisk walk and so beautiful! You know that fake white glittery stuff they put on Christmas ornaments? Well, the sun on the snow makes exactly that kind of brilliant, glittering shine. Every colour of the rainbow was reflected in the snow and we really needed our dark glasses. We were on the lake for about an hour before the wind made our ears freeze through our hats. We then warmed up in his cabin with hot chocolate in front of the wood stove. There are certainly times when northerners resent winter but on days like this, it's worth the hassle...and no BUGS! Lynn J.

We are having a Farley head golf club cover made and are having trouble getting the original grey plush fabric that was used on the original plush Farley toy! So far they have sent 3 swatches of fabric which they had to dye in order to get the right colour, but we're not there yet. The prototypes look good, though, and we'll be sure to tell you when they're ready.

We keep getting asked "How do I get FBorFW by email?" Universal Uclick offers two types of accounts on GoComics.com - paid (Genius) and free - and both allow you to get comics by email. Sign up for your free account here. You can also learn more about the difference between services and upgrade to Genius level if you wish.

This month's challenge - tell us how you first discovered For Better or For Worse. We'll choose one winner to receive a FBorFW prize pack!

Use coupon code SHAMROCK for 5% off orders this month! This coupon is good until the 31st!
