(Strip Number 375, Original Publication Date, 8 March 1983)
Panel 1: We find Elly standing at an empty garbage can screaming that the garbage has gone.
Panel 2: She then asks John how he could possibly be so stupid and useless as to throw out good clothes.
Panel 3: He asks how he was supposed to know; to him, it looked like just another bag of garbage. Her reaction is not to tell him that he could have asked or seen what was inside the bag. That would be useful. Her reaction is to turn away with the Elly-rage face plastered on her face.
Panel 4: Learning-impaired John thought-bubbles that on the one day that he cleans up without being shouted at, he does it wrong.
Summary: The stupid lesson macho dolt John learns is "Never pick up after himself". The stupid lesson Elly is learning is "Men cannot be trusted to do anything remotely domestic." Neither make any real-world sense but, as we'll see, will resonate with Kool-Aid Nation.
