Panel 2: Story Two is about a humanitarian crisis somewhere in the world. Elly's reaction is one of despair.
Panel 3: Story Three is about the latest economic downturn. Elly's reaction is one of horror.
Panel 4: Nizzie come to tell Mommy it okay 'cause it all just pretend. Elly's reaction is one of saying "I wish."
Summary: When we contrast her reaction to Mike's fearfully asking if the world would be all used up by the time he grew up and April's wanting to abandon Earth because bad things happen here, it's sort of easy to figure out who Lizzie is. Rather than admit that we have to take the good with the bad, her reaction is to let a sort of oblivious optimism blind her to actual problems.
